scope of the role
- Tracking and analysis of itsu and competitor performance across multiple customers and categories
- Sharing data and key insight across the business using a range of data sources e.g. Nielsen, Dunnhumby, nectar
- Understanding of shopper behavior impacting both itsu and wider category performance
- Tracking key food trends and working with our NPD, marketing, and sales teams to drive and support insight-led innovation
- Continuing to develop the newly created P&P function
- Driving a promotional evaluation culture within the sales team
- Building a clear view of price positions of key competitors and regularly updating team
- Aiding the delivery of the volume and value forecast

This could be the step you are looking for! itsu [grocery] is now looking for a hard-working, analytical & enthusiastic category manager to help grow our category function as well as shape our pricing and promotions strategy. The successful candidate will work with both the commercial and finance functions to understand our performance within the wider grocery categories in which we play as well as how best to maximise both sales and profit through promotions and trade investment.
you:
- An eye for detail
- Strong commercial acumen
- 2 years + FMCG experience [category management, sales, trade marketing, or shopper marketing]
- Strong Excel skills
- In-depth understanding of the UK grocery market
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge the decisions of other team members when necessary
- A flexible, can-do attitude with a willingness to work closely with others within a small team, a real self-starter
