scope of the role

The Commercial Analyst for the itsu Retail business, will help itsu ensure that all commercial and strategic decisions taken by senior management are based on best-in-class analysis, aided by easy access to endless amounts of data. This wide-ranging role will be exposed to all Directors and Board Members – with no limit on the topics to cover – but a focus on Customers, Operations, Product and Property.

 

This is a critical role, with the business forecast to more than double in size within the next 3 years, to drive the future success of the company.

 

these are the core responsibilities

  • To understand the business model and the key drivers of success in granular detail, and become the ‘go-to person’ for commercial and strategic insight
  • To build strong relationships with all stakeholders within the Academy and Shop teams
  • To understand all the quantitative and qualitive data, and be able to apply learnings from analysis to guide and suggest future decision making
  • Produce articulate, well organised, and replicable output
  • The role will include ad hoc strategic support as well as periodic tasks:

Customers

  • Drive decision making by providing insight on customers from data gathered from both the digital channels (app/website/aggregators) and customer feedback sessions

Operations

  • Aid Operations managers with understanding of shop financial performance, trading patterns & specifically labour, COGs and waste costs
  • Suggest strategic ideas that improve shop performance and team wellbeing

Product

  • Lead the analysis of the existing product range and support the decision-making process on menu planning
  • Provide commercial insight on historic product pricing decisions and future strategy

Property

  • Aid in the New Shop Opening (NSO) decision making process by improving financial modelling of potential new stores and evaluation once opened
  • Support the negotiation and decision-making process for shop lease renewals by analysing historic and projected future store performance

Periodic

  • Responsible for all commercial reporting for the monthly board meetings
  • Provide the commercial insight to drive budgeting and forecasting processes

Key experience

  • Experience supporting and presenting commercial decision making with senior stakeholders. Ideally within a multi-site business
