Itsu [grocery] offers exciting and enticing high-quality Asian-inspired foods [online and in supermarkets] and has quickly become one of the leading brands in that specific group. Yet, it is still the beginning and the business has huge global ambitions.

scope of the role

We are at an exciting growth stage and so are always spreading our [butterfly] wings across new territories including new categories [chilled prepared, ambient] and new channels [TikTok]. We are looking for someone to join our growing design team to help us to learn and adapt as we go whilst ensuring we protect the brilliant bits that make us the iconic brand we are.

 

this is what you will do

 

  • Design & create itsu [grocery]’s UK & International product artwork – must be proficient on the creative suite packages [Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign]

 

  • Product packaging – work with the Product Development team on all itsu [grocery] packaging. Managing concept through to artwork. Our packaging should never cost the earth [both literally and metaphorically]. Knowledge of printing processes & an interest in structural design is preferable.

 

  • Marketing collateral e.g. campaigns, trade presentations, brand brochures, product and packaging visualisation, gift boxes, POS, mockups etc.

 

  • Design innovation – constantly looking for new, unexpected, and improved ways to express the brand

the ideal candidate

A creative who loves jumping from project to project as it keeps things fresh and interesting. Comfortable across digital & print. Flexible and open to short notice ‘briefs in a tweet’. A doer, with a passion for beautiful design that is comfortable managing multiple projects. Able to clearly articulate creative rationale and decisions to a broad audience.  

 

  • 2 years + end to end experience in packaging design.
  • Thrives off a fast-paced environment  
  • Adaptable and resilient to last-minute changes
  • Demonstrates an understanding of business needs – esp. when it comes to cost of design process 
  • An organised self-starter
  • Pride in your work, with strong attention to detail 
  • Speed of execution (we like to move quickly and get things done but insist on doing things beautifully and paying attention to detail)
  • A real team player – someone with a can-do attitude who has willingness to work closely with others within a small team.
