role responsibility

Here are the key responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist in the development of itsu safety standards, policies and procedures
  • Carry out coaching for shop management teams; making clear written reports with advice that is practical, safe and complies with legislation and company procedures
  • Assist in the production of summary reports; from coaching, audits, accidents and complaints.
  • Advise on improvements and updates to company procedures based on coaching and audit findings or changes in legislation
  • Develop and deliver high-quality training in relevant safety courses
  • Work closely with all other itsu departments to provide positive support on all safety-related matters
  • Reactive trouble-shooting for situations arising in shops. Ensuring that food or health and safety standards are not compromised by unusual or emergency situations
  • Completion and recording of workplace risk assessments to a high standard to ensure legal compliance
  • Accident Investigation and reports, including reporting to RIDDOR when necessary. Completion of accurate and detailed records. Liaison with insurers when necessary
  • Investigation of AFPs, AFBs, allergy and other customer complaints.  Completion of accurate and detailed records. Advise customer services on appropriate responses to customers
  • Liaison with Enforcement Officers when necessary. Support shop and Ops teams to understand and meet requirements of officers
  • Keeping up to date with new developments in safety practices and maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE/FSA legislation and any developments that affect our business

scope of the role

The Health & Safety Advisor helps itsu ensure that its people, its food, its customers, its contractors and its brand are suitably and reasonably protected through the consistent and effective delivery of high standards of Health and Safety, Food Safety and Fire Safety.

 

They will develop and deliver the safety systems, processes and controls to the highest standards and support colleagues in all departments to meet these.
