Management Accountant

scope of the role

The role of a Management Accountant will be to support the Financial Controller (FC) in day to day and ad-hoc matters to ensure accuracy of monthly and yearly accounts, including but not limited to:

  • Posting of monthly accruals & prepayments for specific UK P&L cost lines
  • Balance sheet reconciliations to be reviewed with the FC on a monthly basis
  • Reconciliation of actual performance versus forecast for stores and central overhead cost lines
  • Assist the FC to continuously improve internal control environment
  • Create and maintain manuals for finance procedures
  • Assist the FC analysing financial performance and contributing to medium business planning, budget and forecasts
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial stakeholders
  • Monitoring and evaluating financial information reports and suggesting improvements where needed
  • Support the FC working with all departments to ensure spending is kept in line with budget and forecasts
  • Understanding of Capex with the ability to provide accurate and timely analysis of actuals and forecasting for recharge purposes and Capex Reporting
  • Calculate, post and review the monthly GRNI and other Accruals providing a summary of the impact to senior management.

relevant experience, skills qualifications

  • Finance qualifications preferred (part or full)
  • Multi-site experience in retail, hospitality or similar field strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight time frames
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred
  • Intermediate or advanced excel skills are strongly preferred
