Packaging Project Manager - itsu [grocery]
itsu [grocery] is looking for a commercially aware Packaging Project Manager to join the growing team.
The role will report directly into the Strategic Projects & Packaging Development Manager and will work closely with Julian Metcalfe (Founder).
role responsibility
- Project management of all packaging development for itsu [grocery] from concept to launch, managing and meeting all deadlines to achieve critical path timings.
- Supporting the product development team to bring new & existing products to market, advising on format, manufacture, material specification, commercial & practical implications of the packaging.
- Assisting with all necessary packaging trials & tests, including production & transport tests.
- Project management of the artwork development for all itsu [grocery] products (both UK & International SKUs) working closely with & co-ordinating the NPD, Supply Chain, Technical & Design teams, and external suppliers to ensure timely, accurate & on brand artwork completion.
- Responsible for achieving the best possible print specification & quality for all packaging, working closely with the Design team, printers, repro agencies & external suppliers to achieve this.
- Championing & driving the itsu [grocery] sustainability agenda & responsible for the continued improvement of the existing product portfolio's sustainability credentials.
- Managing the artwork budget, taking full responsibility for the allocation & prioritization of spend & finding cost efficiencies where possible.
- Responsible for creating packaging mock-ups & 3D renders
scope of the role
- Will be experienced in managing the packaging development & design process (from concept to launch) including artwork & printing processes.
- Experience in project management preferred.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment working to moving deadlines whilst maintaining a resilient & adaptive attitude to changing prioritises.
- Have an obsessive eye for detail. Impressive organisational skills are essential.
- Able to build strong positive relationships with all internal & external stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of technical packaging specifications & applications, artwork set up in relation to printing process requirements and sustainable options for different packaging solutions.
- Understanding the impacts of packaging choice on the product production lines & the ability to work with suppliers to resolve any issues that might arise.
- Knowledge & use of the creative Adobe suite
