role responsibility

Working in partnership with other support functions to deliver people initiatives that are aligned to itsu’s strategy.
Driving the people agenda, culture and engagement within shop locations.
Leading and driving the delivery of people projects with the support of the People Partner Lead and Head of HR & Talent
Ensuring consistency and co-ordination across all operational areas with other people partners
Supporting the Ops in the creation of strong area family trees and management succession
Working collaboratively with the Talent team to support with recruitment when needed
Supporting the L&D team in delivering people focused training programmes to upskill management competency and HR capability within the shop operations. Providing insights and expertise to inform content and delivery.  
Supporting the Ops in the completion of the shop performance review process, advising on the creation of any performance improvement plans for their teams.
Collaborating with and escalating to the L&D team any training problems in the shops when identified by GMs and Ops.
Supporting and training GM and Ops on delivering and resolving ER issues
Ensuring GMs and Ops understand when to escalate ER issues to the people team
Being the escalation point for complex grievance and disciplinary appeals
Having a practical, commercial and operational understanding of ER, assisting and advising GMs and Ops on complex issues where there is potential for a formal outcome and knowing when to escalate further to take legal advice
Prioritising how managers can be upskilled through support, training and coaching and ensuring this approach is taken where appropriate
Ensuring paperwork and legal documentation involved is correct, proper and within the company policy and kept safe for future reference
Managing the exit interview process and analyse results to improve retention
Responsibility for weekly/monthly reporting on People KPIs and insights
Support the People Partner Lead and Head of HR & Talent with ad hoc projects and escalate issues when appropriate

scope of the role

A commercially focussed people partner and a critical friend to the Operations Managers and other key stakeholders within itsu helping develop and upskill our teams in relation to people management, ER, diversity & inclusion and people compliance.

This role will support our ever-growing shop areas and be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle within their operations using metrics and initiatives that are going to enhance and deliver our people strategy.

the ideal candidate

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in a People department in a similar environment, ideally within Food & Beverage or retail industry
  • Be a People Advisor ready to develop and take ownership of shop areas or a Senior People Coordinator ready for the next step
  • Be CIPD Level 5 qualified [or above]
  • Have experience dealing with high-volume ER cases in conjunction with driving the people strategy at a shop level
