role responsibility
- Plan the inbound supply chain of our chilled category to maximise our service to customers and minimise waste.
- Work alongside a Junior Supply Planner to manage materials stocks to ensure we have stock in line with inventory stock holding targets.
- Manage transport cost base to reduce cost and environmental impact, as well as optimising for efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with our suppliers to mitigate issues and smooth changeover between products and artwork.
- Build strong relationships with our customers to ensure new launches go smoothly.
- Work with co-manufacturers to improve our service while ensuring efficiency of manufacture and controlling costs.
- Assist in the stock reconciliation process at month end to ensure all stock is accounted for.
- Analyse supplier performance – managing costs and negotiating where relevant.
- Work with demand planning to manage and analyse the sales forecast, adapting the supply plan where necessary.
- Work closely with our NPD & Technical teams to help with the development of new & existing products as part of a project team.
scope of the role
itsu [grocery] is looking for a supply network planner to join its supply chain team. They will manage the supply of chilled, short shelf-life products from our suppliers and manufacturers all over the world to our UK based warehouses and packing sites. They should be analytical, detailed and have a passion for efficiency.
the ideal candidate
- Analytical with strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.
- Great organisation skills and ability to communicate effectively as part of a team and with suppliers.
- Previous supply chain and FMCG planning experience (2+ years in a similar role)
- Experience planning short shelf-life products or chilled products.
- Experience working with 3rd party manufacturers and/or in a factory planning role.
- The energy and self-motivation to work within a rapidly growing business that is constantly evolving with changing priorities
- Pro-active, identifying issues as or before they arise.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet targets and deadlines
- An open-minded approach to the role and a flexible, can do, friendly attitude. Our business is constantly changing!
