Head of Marketing [itsu retail] - maternity cover
You will be leading the creative process (across in-house and outsourced creative resource) to create beautiful, brand-enhancing marketing campaigns; commercially astute, you will be building sales across all our stores and communicating our pillars of health, value and sustainability across all customer touchpoints and channels with attitude, creativity and impact.
role responsibility
- Run a dynamic creative marketing & comms team who will be challenged to think big, be creative and deliver more with less to ensure the brand comes out stronger than ever from the current situation caused by the pandemic
- Land brand-building, integrated marketing campaigns across online and offline communication channels to drive frequency and build sales
- Work with PR agency and in-house team to drive product placement and bring our ‘eat beautiful’ mission to life
- Work with social media agency and in-house team to build the itsu brand presence online through content, influencers and paid media to achieve ambitious targets
- Brief creative for campaigns into in-house and out-sourced creative partners
- Be a brand guardian, protecting our brand identity and how it is cascaded through all our communication channels – ensuring simplicity is revered in everything we do
- Continue to roll out the itsu app and build a CRM strategy with the support of the Digital Marketing Manager
- Execute plan to build online sales via app pre-order and delivery aggregators
- Copywriting support, ensuring everyone in the team understands the tone of voice and how to engage with customers emotionally to tell the itsu brand story
- Oversight of local and new store marketing
- Budget management

- Creative or ad agency experience ideal
- Have a minimum of 6+ years’ experience in a marketing role with ideally experience in the retail/food sector
- Agency background is ideal
- Strong project management skills
- Good at unleashing creativity in people
- Experience in food or QSR welcome
- Commercially aware
- Passionate about brands, innovation and all forms of customer communication
- A great feel for marketing and comms today including the role of social channels
- Dynamic, collaborative and agile
- Able to quickly shift gears from tactical to strategic
- Willing to be hands on in a very lean organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good copywriting skills
- Experience in communicating and influencing at all levels of an organization
- Experience in managing, leading and upskilling a team
- Experience in managing a PR agency
- A good creative eye
